The launch of ChatGPT in late 2022 completely shook the Internet, and has been compared to the iPhone moment for the AI Industry.
Here’s why…
Since its inception, the internet has undergone various phases of evolution. From proprietary networks in the 90’s, which provided a few services (such as email) to a limited number of users, to a browsing platform when Microsoft launched Internet Explorer, and when Google became popular in the early 2000’s, it entered the era of search engines, followed by discovery engines due to the rise of social media, and generative engines - the result of AI.
ChatGPT’s impact comes as no surprise - it’s a free tool that generates content, writes and debugs code, explains different things with different styles, shares ideas for art, decoration, and parties, finds answers for homework, and can even play Tic-Tac-Toe, among other things.
It didn’t take long to see ChatGPT infiltrating in the workplace - people immediately started using it for copywriting, content creation, strategy ideas…but, like any other technology, it also has its limitations, and it is raising concerns about how much AI can replace human work.
On Wednesday, February 15th 2023, Dr. Abdullah Sahyoun, global head of AI & digital transformation at APCO Worldwide, joined Cosmic Centaurs CEO & Founder Marilyn Zakhour on a webinar to cover the role of ChatGPT in the future of work.
